I buy several saver project cars to piece back together and sometimes keep them for myself. If I didn't have 3 other cars at the moment I'd be keeping this one. If I don't get the asking price I will finish it myself and sell it for alot more than this asking price....with that said
What it is: 1977 datsun 280z project car. I was going to make it a racecar platform for vintage racing. Its in awesome condition for a car found in the chicagoland area. It is nearly rustfree and the restoration of it was stopped by the past owner. The car has perfect frame rails, floors, under the battery tray, all the strut towers, behind the front wheels, around the windows, bottom of the doors, fenders all 4 corners, all in excellent condition. There are 2 spots on the passenger side fender, one on the lip about the size of a quarter of surface rust and the lower part of the same panel there is some bubbling....thats it. I have several engines from NA to long block turbo setups or its ready with your engine of choice. The interior is there as far as dash, seats, door panels and most of the rear plastic panels...needs carpet. The car is a no sunroof car, is the straightest Z I've seen in quite awhile.
It is stored in my warehouse in Paducah, KY. car is an automatic but can be changed very easily to a manual trans car. When these cars were originally built DATSUN made one chassis and used block off plates for automatic cars. All the correct holes in the fire wall are there, just remove a block off plate and its ready to change.
Its price is $2500 with a NA motor and 4spd trans with pedal box or $2150 with no motor and manual pedal box. This is a steal due to the condition of the body.
